Newsela is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to shape our data ecosystem by building robust pipelines and applying software engineering practices to analytics code. You will collaborate with stakeholders, drive data-driven decision-making, and manage large-scale data infrastructure and automation.

Ideal candidates will have extensive SQL/Python experience, dbt orchestration, and cloud infrastructure know-how, enabling you to expand our data warehouse with clean, analysable data.

Formación

• 8+ years of experience working with data in a software environment.

Responsabilidades

• Model and transform data to support analytics.
• Build analyses using SQL and Python.
• Apply software engineering practices to analytics codebase (version control, CI).
• Expand data warehouse with clean data for analysis.
• Implement data quality testing and validation checks for ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define business logic and data expectations.
• Surface actionable insights to drive data-informed decisions.
• Lead data infrastructure automation and large-scale migrations.
