Job summary

Glencore Copper SAOP in Chile seeks a Communities and Social Performance Lead to shape the social strategy for our projects in Coquimbo. You will build trust with communities, authorities and stakeholders, and integrate territorial perspectives into key project decisions.

You will anticipate risks, lead dialogue, and ensure compliant, transparent approaches in line with Glencore's standards and local contexts, driving sustainable development and long-term social value.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in social performance, community relations or public affairs in mining or complex projects.
• Experience leading teams, consultants and contractors in field settings.
• Experience in early-stage project development, with social considerations in environmental and indigenous processes.
• Strong record of negotiating and building agreements with communities and authorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Communities and Social Performance strategy to build trust with communities and stakeholders.
• Be the project reference in the territory, coordinating dialogues and agreements with actors and institutions.
• Anticipate social risks using field presence and stakeholder analysis to guide prevention and response.
• Steer social dimension across permitting, environmental assessments and indigenous consultation where applicable.
• Turn commitments into sustainable relationships, manage agreements, consultations and social investments.
• Integrate social perspectives into project decisions with cross-functional teams.
• Develop and lead the Communities and Social Performance function, managing resources and budgets.
