Ria Money Transfer is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead product squads with a focus on scalable, reliable software and a culture of ownership. You will guide delivery commitments, grow engineers, and champion quality built into products.

You will mentor engineers, manage performance, and lead architecture discussions while coordinating cross-team dependencies in a fast-paced fintech environment. English proficiency required.

• 8+ years in software engineering with 4+ years leading engineering teams and delivering outcomes.
• Proven ability to challenge estimates and trade-offs in architecture discussions.
• Experience running end-to-end agile delivery with planning, estimation, sprints and stakeholder reporting.
• Track record of mentoring engineers and supporting career development.
• Experience coordinating cross-team dependencies in multi-team or distributed setups.
• Ownership mindset with proactive risk highlighting and accountability for squad results.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.
• Familiarity with test automation and shift-left quality practices.
• Interest in AI-assisted engineering workflows as a default approach.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead product squads, balancing people development with technical oversight. You will guide your squads to deliver scalable, reliable products, owning delivery commitments, growing your engineers, and fostering a culture of ownership where quality is built in, not inspected at the end.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own quarterly planning and execution, estimate with your squads, push back on scope, commit dates with risks on the table, and report status and metrics to product.
• Mentor engineers, run 1-on-1s, manage performance and compensation reviews, and champion career growth.
• Challenge estimates and architectural trade-offs, participate in design reviews, and uphold quality standards; embedded QA and automation as features are built.
• Partner with product on scope and squad north-star metrics; align dependencies early with other squads.
• Source, interview, and onboard engineering and QA talent as the squad model grows.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• 8+ years in software engineering, with 4+ years managing engineering teams and direct accountability for delivery outcomes, not only people administration.
• Strong technical background (backend, web, or mobile at scale): credible in architecture discussions and able to challenge estimates and trade-offs.
• Proven experience running agile delivery end to end: planning, estimation, sprint execution, stakeholder reporting — with the instinct to push back on scope rather than absorb it.
• Track record of growing and retaining engineers: mentoring, career development, performance evaluation.
• Experience managing cross-team dependencies in a multi-team or distributed organization.
• Ownership mindset: proactively surfaces risks before being asked; treats squad results as their own.
• Metrics-driven: has steered priorities using business and operational metrics (conversion, retention, uptime, error rates).
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.
• Familiarity with test automation and shift-left quality practices.
• Enthusiasm for AI-assisted engineering workflows and willingness to make them the default.
• Nice to have: fintech/payments domain experience;
