Job summary

Aura solicita un Ingeniero DevOps para colaborar con equipos en Chile e internacionalmente, desplegar, monitorizar y mantener servicios, resolver incidencias y mejorar infraestructuras y flujos de trabajo.

El candidato ideal tendrá experiencia en DevOps/SRE, automatización, contenedorización y habilidades de mentoring; se valorará conocimiento en herramientas de monitoreo y entornos en la nube. Presencia en La Serena, Chile, con modalidad on-site o híbrida según protocolo.

Qualifications

• 3–6 años de experiencia en DevOps, SRE o roles técnicos afines.
• Dominio de al menos un lenguaje de programación como Python, Go o Ruby.
• Experiencia con pruebas unitarias (pytest; go test).
• Experiencia con sistemas distribuidos y entornos en la nube.
• Control de versiones (Git) con PRs y revisión de código.
• Contenerización y orquestación (Docker, Kubernetes).
• CI/CD y flujos de desarrollo modernos; conocimientos en Agile.
• Buenas habilidades de comunicación verbal y escrita en inglés.
• Mas experiencia deseable en Helm, Prometheus, Grafana y herramientas de monitoreo.

Responsibilities

• Desarrollar, desplegar, configurar, probar y mantener servicios DevOps.
• Apoyar despliegues de infraestructura y procesos de provisión.
• Implementar y mantener herramientas de monitoreo y reporte.
• Mantener y mejorar soluciones de gestión de configuración.
• Contribuir a marcos de pruebas automatizadas junto al equipo.
• Apoyar optimización de rendimiento y disponibilidad de la infraestructura.
• Construir y mantener herramientas para flujos de trabajo de desarrollo y operaciones.
• Gestionar incidentes críticos liderando despliegues y resolución de outages.
• Contribuir a la documentación y compartir conocimiento dentro del equipo.
• Mentorear a ingenieros menos experimentados.

Descripción del trabajo - DevOps Engineer

The DevOps Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams in Chile and internationally to deploy, monitor, and maintain services, troubleshoot operational issues, and contribute to ongoing improvements in infrastructure and workflows. This role requires a proactive mindset, a solid technical foundation, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to solve moderately complex technical problems, operate independently, contribute to system design discussions, and support production environments. Occasional after-hours responsibilities may be required, as well as collaboration across multiple time zones.

Essential Functions:

• Develop, deploy, configure, test, and maintain DevOps services
• Support infrastructure deployment and provisioning processes
• Implement and maintain monitoring and reporting tools
• Maintain and improve configuration management solutions
• Contribute to test automation frameworks with the team
• Support performance tuning and availability of infrastructure
• Build and maintain tools to improve developer and operational workflows
• Manage urgent operational issues by leading or collaborating within teams to deploy essential services and resolve critical outages.
• Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing within the team
• Mentoring less experienced engineers

Work Modality

This position may be offered in one of the following formats, in accordance with AURA’s Teleworking Protocols:

• On-site in La Serena, Chile
• Full or Hybrid Teleworking

Required Education/Experience/Skills/Abilities:

• 3–6 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or related technical roles
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, or Ruby
• Experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, go test)
• Experience working with distributed systems and cloud-based environments
• Hands-on experience with version control systems such as Git, including pull requests and code reviews.
• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows
• Working knowledge of Agile methodologies
• Strong presentation, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
• Spoken and written English
• Clean driving record
• Experience mentoring junior engineers

Preferred Education/Experience/Skills/Abilities:

• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code
• Experience writing Helm charts.
• Extensive experience with Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with a hosted CI/CD system such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Travis CI
• Hands-on experience with software-defined storage platforms such as Ceph
• Experience with Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible in production environments.
• Experience with monitoring and log-aggregating frameworks such as Prometheus, Icinga, Grafana, Telegraf/InfluxDB, Kafka, Logstash, Splunk, OpenSearch, and Kibana.
• Vast experience with an Enterprise Linux (AlmaLinux, etc.) distribution or Fedora
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Kubernetes, Linux) are a plus
