Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a Registered Nurse to manage and deliver care to a defined caseload, applying the Nursing Process and ensuring high-quality client/patient care in partnership with other disciplines. The charge nurse has delegated responsibility for appraisal, management and clinical supervision of nurses and support staff within a defined clinical service.

The role requires compliance with the NMC Code and NHSL information governance standards, plus maintenance of accurate patient

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration.
• Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level.
• Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge.
• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.

Responsibilities

• Apply values based practice principles to inform decision making in all aspects of care and treatment of clients / patients and in interactions with colleagues.
• Triage referrals and undertake person centred assessment of clients / patients in accordance with policies; provide clinical supervision of staff.
• Deputise for the team leader / senior charge nurse and ensure service runs smoothly in their absence.
