Insight Global's client seeks a Senior Back Office Architect to modernize enterprise financial platforms with scalable, reliable systems for money movement and core processing. This role blends hands-on design with architectural leadership and collaboration across product and engineering teams.

The position is based in Santiago, Chile with a hybrid onsite schedule (Tue–Thu in person), guiding governance and standards while mentoring architects to ensure secure, compliant solutions.

Insight Global’s client is seeking a Senior Back Office Architect to play a critical role in the modernization and evolution of its enterprise financial platforms. This is a senior, hands-on architecture position focused on designing scalable, reliable systems that support money movement, financial operations, and core back-office processing. The ideal candidate brings a blend of deep technical expertise and strong architectural leadership, with the ability to introduce governance, planning, and consistency within a growing architecture team while remaining actively involved in system design and development. This role serves as a key bridge between product and engineering teams, translating business objectives into scalable technical solutions that support both current operations and future growth. Key Responsibilities Own and modernize the architecture of core back-office financial systems, including ledgers, settlements, reconciliation, treasury, and money movement platforms. Lead architecture design, reviews, and technical direction across engineering teams, establishing scalable standards for APIs, integrations, security, and observability. Remain hands-on with system design, prototyping, and software development while guiding implementation of complex technical solutions. Partner with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to align architecture with business goals and drive cross-functional decision-making. Introduce architecture governance, best practices, and processes to support a growing engineering organization. Mentor architects and technical leaders while promoting modern technologies, AI-enabled development practices, and continuous improvement. Ensure systems are scalable, reliable, secure, and compliant with business and regulatory requirements.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 7+ years of software development and architecture experience, including end-to-end system design and delivery.
• Strong hands-on architecture experience with the ability to remain technical and contribute to implementation when needed.
• Professional experience with C# and .NET.
• Experience leading architecture initiatives, architecture planning, reviews, or cross-team technical decisions.
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale systems. Proven experience modernizing, improving, or evolving legacy platforms.
• Background in financial services, banking, payments, fintech, FX, or other regulated financial environments.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven architecture.
• Solid SQL and relational database experience.
• Ability to translate business and product requirements into technical architecture solutions.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience introducing governance, standards, documentation, and architectural best practices.
• Must be willing to work hybrid in Santiago, Chile (Tuesday-Thursday onsite).

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Preferred Qualifications Experience with ledgers, double-entry accounting systems, or financial data platforms.
• Experience with settlement, reconciliation, treasury, or payment-processing systems.
• AWS architecture and cloud design experience, including CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with other major cloud platforms (Azure or GCP) if AWS experience is limited.
• Experience leading architecture transformations, platform migrations, or modernization initiatives.
• Familiarity with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, SAFe, or similar methodologies.
• Experience mentoring architects, technical leads, or engineering teams.
• Experience operating in fast-paced, entrepreneurial, or highly autonomous engineering environments.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar as part of the software development lifecycle.
