Job summary

The Institute of Animal Pathology (ITPA) at the University of Bern invites applications for a full-time veterinary pathologist. Duties include 70% service and teaching and 30% research, with service split between biopsy and necropsy and involvement in collaborative diagnostic work and research projects.

Candidates should have ECVP/ACVP board certification or eligibility, strong diagnostic and teaching skills, and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• ECVP / ACVP board certification or eligibility.
• Experience and independence in diagnostic veterinary pathology.
• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of students' and residents' needs and dedication to teaching.
• Collaborative mindset to foster team approach in diagnostics, teaching and research.
• Enthusiasm about developing the field of veterinary pathology.
• Minimal German at start (B1) and fluency (C1) after 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Service will be divided between biopsy and necropsy duties.
• Teaching includes supervision of pathology residents and veterinary students during rotations and classroom teaching.
