Job summary

The University of Zurich's Institute of Veterinary Pathology invites applications for a postgraduate research project on reptarenaviruses and Boid Inclusion Body Disease (BIBD). The project uses molecular biology and in vitro studies and starts 1 September 2018 for 12 months, with potential for a residency toward ECVP certification.

Salary follows SNF guidelines; English and German language skills are required.

Qualifications

• EU-recognised veterinary degree.
• Interest in reptile and infectious diseases and in laboratory work.
• Interest in pathology and postgraduate training in the specialisation.
• Very good English and good German skills (spoken and written).
• Option for a subsequent residency towards the certifying examination of the European College of Veterinary Pathologists.
• Salary according to the guidelines of the SNF.

Responsibilities

• Practical work on dissertation project
• Contribution to the institute’s post mortem diagnostic service (pathology internship)
