Hydromea is seeking a Robotics Software Intern to develop and enhance our underwater robotics software stack. You will work on the Navia control UI, dashboards for autonomy, and embedded systems running on microcontrollers and Raspberry Pi.

You’ll contribute to both production and R&D efforts, collaborating with the autonomy team and hardware engineers. You will pilot EXRAY vehicles in labs and field tests, gaining hands-on experience with real missions and deployments while building robust,

Qualifications

• Curious, hands-on software developer
• Comfortable with Python for scripting, UI and logic
• Proficient in C/C++ for embedded systems and robotics
• Experience with PyQt5/PyQt Designer and UI styling (QSS)
• Familiar with communication protocols UART, CAN, I2C
• Git workflows (merge requests, rebasing, conflict resolution)
• Swiss work permit or EU/EFTA/CH citizenship required

Responsabilités

• Develop and expand the control UI (Navia) for sensors and analytics
• Build data-rich dashboards to enhance autonomy and operator tools
• Collaborate with autonomy team to integrate behaviors for semi- and autonomous missions
• Maintain and refactor embedded code on microcontrollers and Raspberry Pi (C/C++, Python)
• Pilot EXRAY systems in lab, field, and mission deployments
• Ensure real-time data visualization and robust system feedback
