Job summary

Nautica Technologies AG in Switzerland seeks a Senior Software & Infrastructure Engineer to own how our hull-cleaning robot's software is built, tested, shipped and run in the field.

You will contribute production C++ and Python for localization, navigation and mission features, work on containerised builds, deployment pipelines and field pilot deployments with ship operators. Expect to join deployments where code meets salt water.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering, with at least 2 years on infrastructure, build or platform work for software that runs on real hardware.
• Strong C++17 and Python 3 proficiency; able to read and understand others' code.
• Deep Linux experience: systemd, networking, udev, cross-compilation, debugging on embedded targets.
• Hands-on ROS 2 experience or comparable robotics middleware; familiar with pub/sub and DDS networking.

Responsibilities

• Build and release: own containerised multi-arch builds and CI with automated tests.
• Fleet deployment: simplify configuring robots and rolling out software to field deployments.
• Observability: enable fast diagnosis via logging, data capture and tooling.
• Robotics features: develop production ROS 2 nodes in C++ and Python for localization, navigation and mission logic.
• Simulation and testing: extend simulation to verify robotics changes before deployment.
• Hardware integration: work on interfaces between software, sensors and embedded controllers.
• Field pilots: support deployments and turn field issues into tooling and fixes.
