DPhi Space Sarl is seeking engineers to join the team to design and validate the thermal systems of satellites, from component to full spacecraft level. The role covers simulations, experiments, and coordination with manufacturing partners to bring designs into production.
Fluency in English is essential; French is a plus. The environment offers hybrid work possibilities and a fast-paced, collaborative setting in a Swiss startup focused on space intelligence infrastructure.
DPhi Space is a Swiss startup building the intelligence infrastructure in space by turning satellites into inference servers and connecting space to the cloud on Earth.
The team launched a first demonstrator into space in March 2025 followed by the second one in March 2026. The company is on a track to continue the yearly launch cycle with the next system planned to launch in 2027.
For this mission, we are looking for motivated engineers to join the company.
We are looking at covering the following competencies with multiple team members. You do not need to excel at all of them.
Thermal design of a satellite from electrical sub-assemblies to system level.
Perform thermal and multi-discipline simulations to validate the system's thermal integrity.
Design of experiments to validate simulations and designs.
Coordinating the procurement of thermal components, for example heat pipes and radiators.
Bring a project from design to manufacturing by coordinating with manufacturing partners.
Plan and perform the thermal aspects of a satellite testing campaign.
Be the subject matter expert for thermal questions for other disciplines.
The roles are open for different levels of seniority. Essential skills include
The ability to work in a team.
Experience in the full design cycle covering design, prototyping, and final design implementation and qualification.
Proficiency in simulation tools, for example Thermal Desktop, Ansys tools, or similar.
Experience in rapid prototyping and experimental design verification.
University or HES degree in any relevant engineering or science field.
Problem-solving mindset and the ability to work with evolving constraints.
Language: Fluency in English is a must, French is an asset.
