Job summary

KeyPartners in Basel seeks an experienced Senior Accountant to join its international Finance team. You will manage GL activities, close processes, and ensure accurate financial reporting.

The role supports internal controls, audits, and process improvements, with a 12-month fixed-term contract and potential extension or transition.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, have 4+ years' experience, IFRS knowledge is a plus, and CPA/ACCA is highly preferred, with strong English.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join an international company's Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for key accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting compliance requirements, internal controls, and process improvements.

This is a 12-month fixed-term position, with the possibility of an extension or transition to a permanent role, depending on business needs and mutual fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger activities and ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing
• Prepare and review journal entries, monthly accruals, and complex account reconciliations
• Prepare financial reports, supporting schedules, and accounting documentation in line with reporting deadlines
• Analyse monthly financial results and explain variances against prior periods, budgets, and forecasts
• Support the documentation and monitoring of internal controls and contribute to process improvements
• Liaise with internal and external auditors and prepare supporting documentation for audits and SOX compliance reviews
• Support quarterly reporting and investigate and resolve discrepancies within the ERP system
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to prepare cost and profitability analyses that support business decisions

Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a comparable field
• At least 4 years of professional experience in Accounting or Finance
• Strong understanding of accounting principles; IFRS knowledge is an advantage
• A professional accounting qualification, particularly CPA or ACCA, is highly preferred
• Experience in external audit or a SOX-compliant environment is an advantage
• Experience with ERP and reporting systems; knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 or OneStream is an advantage
• Excellent written and spoken English
