Job summary

Zurich Instruments AG is seeking a Technical Buyer to join our Supply Chain team in a Zurich-based role. You will translate technical requirements into sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and resolve procurement and logistics challenges to keep production on track.

Your experience should include a commercial or technical apprenticeship with further education in purchasing, plus at least 10 years in technical procurement. Fluency in German and English is essential.

Qualifications

• Completed commercial or technical apprenticeship with further education in purchasing/business administration or engineering degree with relevant procurement experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in procurement in a technical (ideally electronic) industry.
• Solution oriented thinking, independent and conscientious working style, hands-on mentality.
• Technically savvy with the ability to understand the high-level technical design, issues, and solutions of our products.
• Structured way of working, strong negotiation skills, analytical and conceptual abilities.
• Experience with ERP systems and procurement processes.
• Fluent written and spoken German and English.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for operational purchasing including quotation requests, purchase orders and order confirmations.
• Monitoring of schedule dates and reporting critical delays to prevent material shortages.
• First contact for quotation requests and purchasing for production, R&D and other departments.
• Assisting with maintaining optimal inventory levels and materials on a regular basis.
• Contributor to process improvements.
• Support with New Product Development (NPD) activities.
