Your Role As the Software Team Leader, you will be part of the Design Organization (DOA PART-21J).

The perimeter of the software team covers the development and verification of embedded software activities related to the H55 Electric Propulsion System performed at H55 HQ in Sion.

You will report to the Head of Design Organization.

Your Responsibilities

1. Lead & Develop the Software Team: Organize, guide, and support the team to meet project objectives.
2. Provide clear direction while filtering and prioritizing requests to maintain focus.
3. Foster a high-performance culture through mentorship and technical guidance.
4. Strategic & Operational Team Management: Ensure team skills align with project needs and establish training plans to enhance efficiency.
5. Define and implement a roadmap for team growth, in line with H55’s long-term vision.
6. Allocate resources effectively to meet program requirements.
7. Establish and monitor team budgets.
8. Cross-functional Integration & Collaboration: Ensure seamless interaction between the software team and other departments.
9. Report team progress and key insights to the Head of Design Organization.
10. Oversee and ensure compliance with company standards and processes, particularly as H55 moves towards certification.
11. Technical & Regulatory Compliance: Support product milestone reviews with technical expertise.
12. Manage external suppliers contributing to the team’s activities.
13. Ensure adherence to aviation standards and certification requirements.

Education & Experience

You have demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a highly fast-changing environment. Specifically, this includes:

1. Bachelor’s or higher degree in Software Engineering or a relevant discipline.
2. Minimum 7+ years of experience in software development, with leadership responsibilities.
3. Strong knowledge of embedded software development and verification.
4. Leadership & Decision-Making: Proven experience managing teams in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
5. Ability to make strategic and tactical decisions based on trade-offs between cost, time, quality, safety, and performance.
6. Skilled at developing collaboration and enabling team-driven decisions.
7. Technical & Regulatory Expertise: Good understanding of aviation software standards, including: ARP 4754, DO-178, DO-331, DO-330.
8. Basic knowledge of EASA Part 21, EASA Certification Specifications, and certification principles.
9. Strong problem-solving skills with a structured, analytical mindset.
10. Excellent organizational and documentation abilities.
11. Strong communication skills, capable of working with diverse teams.
12. Experience in task management and SCRUM methodologies (a plus).
13. Fluency in English (French is a plus).
