This senior role supports front-office investment professionals in tax matters related to private-market investments, including private equity, credit, property, and infrastructure.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Law with tax specialization and has experience at a Big 4 firm, a major fund manager, or an international law firm.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Law with a tax specialization.
• Experience as tax specialist at a Big 4 firm, a major fund manager, or an international law firm.
• Experience advising institutional and private investors.
• Strong knowledge of cross-border tax matters related to fund investments.
• Analytical, detail-oriented with ability to see the big picture.
• Fluent in German and English.

Responsibilities

• Support front-office investment professionals in negotiations with clients on tax matters relating to private-market investments.
• Provide structured explanations of complex tax issues relating to the investment portfolio to internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with external law firms, tax advisers, and IT/Business Analysis teams to optimize tax services and monitor changes in tax legislation.

Your Tasks:

As Senior Tax Counsel, responsible for supporting front-office investment professionals in negotiations with clients on tax matters relating to private-market investments such as private equity, private credit, private property or private infrastructure / Structured presentation of complex tax issues relating to the investment portfolio / Supporting all tax aspects of investment initiatives in the private markets sector / Collaborating on the development of strategic tax initiatives / Monitoring tax legislation and implementing changes to systems in collaboration with Business Analysis and IT specialists / Collaborating with external law firms worldwide and the Controlling department, as well as supporting external tax advisers / Overseeing tax services and optimising service offerings / Monitoring the service quality of external advisers / Strengthening sustainability in client advisory services by training investment analysts, product managers and sales managers / Ad hoc projects as required.

Your Profile:

Master’s degree in Law with a specialisation in Tax / Professional experience as a tax specialist at a Big 4 firm, a major fund manager or an international law firm / Experience in providing comprehensive advice to institutional and private investors / Sound legal knowledge of cross-border tax matters relating to fund investments / Strong analytical skills in legal and financial matters / Attention to detail, whilst maintaining an overview of the bigger picture / Team-oriented and articulate in communication / Working languages: German and English.
