Job summary

coni + partner AG in Zurich is seeking a Tax Specialist & Compliance for Private Funds (US/EU). As Senior Tax Counsel, you will support front-office investment professionals in negotiations with clients on tax matters related to private-market investments such as private equity, private credit, private property or private infrastructure.

You will present complex tax issues clearly, monitor legislation, collaborate with external law firms, IT, and Controlling, and guide sustainable client

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Law with a specialization in international Tax.
• Experience at one of the Big 4 accounting firms or a top international law firm.
• In-depth knowledge of EU and US taxation and CRS/FATCA compliance.
• Experience advising institutional and private investors on EU/US tax and compliance.
• Strong analytic skills in legal and financial matters.

Responsibilities

• Support front-office investment professionals in tax negotiations with clients for private-market investments.
• Present complex tax issues related to the investment portfolio in a structured way.
• Support all tax aspects of investment initiatives in the private markets sector.
• Collaborate on development of strategic tax initiatives.
• Monitor tax legislation and implement changes in systems with Business Analysis and IT.
• Collaborate with external law firms and the Controlling department, and support external advisers.
• Oversee tax services and optimise service offerings.
• Monitor service quality of external advisers.
• Strengthen sustainability in client advisory services by training analysts, product managers and sales managers.

Your Tasks:

• As Senior Tax Counsel, responsible for supporting front-office investment professionals in negotiations with clients on tax matters relating to private-market investments such as private equity, private credit, private property or private infrastructure
• Structured presentation of complex tax issues relating to the investment portfolio
• Supporting all tax aspects of investment initiatives in the private markets sector
• Collaborating on the development of strategic tax initiatives
• Monitoring tax legislation and implementing changes to systems in collaboration with Business Analysis and IT specialists
• Collaborating with external law firms worldwide and the Controlling department, as well as supporting external tax advisers
• Overseeing tax services and optimising service offerings
• Monitoring the service quality of external advisers
• Strengthening sustainability in client advisory services by training investment analysts, product managers and sales managers
• Ad hoc projects as required.

Your Profile:

Master’s degree in Law with a specialisation in international Tax / Professional experience at one of the “Big 4” accounting firms or an international law firm specializing in banking, or with fund managers / In-depth knowledge of EU & US taxation and CRS & FATCA compliance / Experience in providing comprehensive advice to institutional and private investors regarding EU and U.S. tax and compliance matters / Sound legal knowledge of cross-border tax matters relating to fund investments / Strong analytical skills in legal and financial matters / Attention to detail, whilst maintaining an overview of the bigger picture / Team-oriented and articulate in communication / Working language is English.
