SYSTEM ENGINEER

The ideal candidate has a good knowledge of Virtualization, Linux and Windows operating systems and Cloud management and the willingness to manage projects towards customers.

The position will report to the Head of Operations within Tinext Cloud and will be based in our HQ in Morbio Inferiore.

In this role, you will be in charge for the following activities:

• You will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and securing our multi-tenant virtualization and Kubernetes infrastructure, storage platform, and backup infrastructure. You will also provide support for activities related to VMware, Veeam, and Microsoft products as needed.
• You deliver high-quality solutions from inception to production, with a strong focus on automation, security, reliability, and manageability.
• You actively contribute to the continuous updating and maintenance of hardware and software platforms, ensuring alignment with best practices in security and performance.
• You participate in hardware installations and system startup activities, ensuring seamless and secure deployments.
• You assist in onboarding new applications and support projects and application teams by implementing and operating their solutions with highly automated processes for deployment, change, lifecycle management, and monitoring.
• You coordinate and collaborate with internal and external partners, including project teams, vendors, and suppliers, with a focus on maintaining robust and secure operational standards.
• You ensure that comprehensive technical documentation is available and drive operational continuous improvements.
• You are involved in incident, change, and problem management processes, prioritizing quick resolution and proactive measures to enhance system stability and security.

Your Identikit:

• At least 5+ years of professional experience as a System Engineer, with a focus on Virtualization, Linux and Security.
• Good working knowledge of Vmware, Veeam and Microsoft products.
• Experience in operating container-based applications on Kubernetes would be highly appreciated.
• You hold one or more certifications, such as VMware VCP (DTC or NV), Veeam (preferred), or cloud certifications like AWS or Azure (considered a plus).
• You are passionate about technology, particularly security and open-source solutions, and you are driven by the desire to continuously explore and learn new tools and methodologies
• Fluent in both Italian and English.
• A team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interface with clients, balancing technical depth with clear explanations.
• Detail-oriented and committed to delivering outstanding results while thriving under deadlines and shifting priorities.
• You live in Switzerland or close to Italian Swiss border or you are willing to relocate.
