Summer Student (Software Developer for Remote Desktop Server xrdp)

The Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences within Switzerland. For the IT Science Department, Linux Research Services Group we are looking for a Summer Student to join our team (https://www.psi.ch/en/awi) and help improve the feature set of the remote desktop server we use: xrdp (https://www.xrdp.org/).

Your tasks

Are you interested in software development and contributing to open-source projects? Do you want hands-on experience writing production ready code to improve the operation of scientific instruments?

• Develop new and improve features for xrdp and potentially contribute to the upstream xrdp codebase
• Work closely with experienced engineers and learn real world IT best practices
• Learn to contribute to open-source projects

Your profile

• Everyone who is proficient in writing code in C
• You have a good working knowledge of English
