Zusammenfassung

ETH Zürich seeks a Student Assistant for Strategic Projects to support the QdL project (Quantification of Teaching Engagement) by preparing and analyzing teaching data, creating charts and brief presentations, and keeping documentation organized. The role provides insight into how a university measures teaching engagement and supports related Strategy & Analytics projects.

The position is fixed-term up to one year from start date and offers around 10–15 hours per week with flexible scheduling

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's (from the 3rd semester) or Master's student at a Swiss university in psychology, sociology, education or a related social science
• First experience in a teaching context, e.g., as a tutor or teaching assistant, or supervising exercise sessions
• Confident with Excel and comfortable working with structured data
• Accurate, structured work style, and attention to detail in data and documentation
• Independent, takes initiative and handles internal and partly confidential data with discretion
• Can explain results concisely to people who did not do the analysis
• Communicate confidently in German and English, written and spoken

Aufgaben

• Preparing and structuring existing data sets and carrying out descriptive analyses (mainly in Excel)
• Turning results into charts, tables and short slide sets, and presenting them to the team
• Documenting data sources, definitions and processing steps so analyses stay traceable
• Administrative support for the project: documentation, correspondence, minute-taking, scheduling and filing
• Assisting with the preparation of meetings and workshops, including materials and follow-up documentation
• Basic desk research and preparatory work for other related projects of the Strategy & Analytics Team
