Job summary

Leica Microsystems, a Danaher operating company, in Switzerland seeks a Project Procurement Manager to lead NPI and strategic transition projects. You will coordinate with R&D, Operations, Quality and suppliers to align milestones, sourcing strategies and cost targets, while managing timelines and risks.

You will drive early supplier involvement, optimize design-for-cost and manage total cost of ownership, with a focus on cross-functional collaboration and global stakeholder reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 7+ years of project management experience, preferably in procurement or supply chain.
• Strong collaboration, communication and stakeholder-management skills in a global, matrixed organization.
• Experience in price and contract negotiations within high-mix, low-volume operations.
• Professional English negotiation level.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement activities for NPI and transition projects with clear scope, timelines, budgets and milestones.
• Drive supplier selection, qualification, onboarding and readiness for critical components.
• Enable early supplier involvement and cost-optimization using Design-to-Cost and Should-Cost approaches.
• Negotiate and implement commercial agreements, including contracts and lead times.
• Ensure cross-functional alignment and DBS/Kaizen-driven continuous improvement.
