Job summary

Julius Baer is seeking a highly motivated Financial Analyst, Performance- & Initiative Manager to drive finance projects for its private banking business in Western Markets & Switzerland. You will partner with senior management and regional finance teams, delivering insights on profitability, performance, and cost management.

Qualifications

• Strong academic record: University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or comparable field of study.
• At least 4-5 years of experience in comparable finance or related function within banking or management consulting with focus on banking.
• Excellent Excel and data handling skills paired with affinity to derive in-depth quantitative analyses.
• Data visualization / BI tools knowledge (Tableau/Power BI) is a great advantage.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multiple senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, conceptual skills and fast thinker; team player.
• Good knowledge and understanding of Private Banking and global financial markets.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written); German an advantage.

We are looking for a highly motivated Financial Analyst, Performance- & Initiative Manager who is passionate about driving finance related projects and create impact on profitability, performance and cost management topics for Julius Baer’s private banking business in Western Markets & Switzerland.

You will be joining a dynamic and experienced team of Finance experts who act as sparring partners to the regional senior management, supporting them in achieving their objectives and anticipating trends in the financial performance at an early stage.

In this challenging and exciting role, you will be part of the CFO Western Markets & Switzerland team, and report to the Head of Performance Management, Business Partnering & Initiatives.

YOUR CHALLENGE

• Drive & perform in-depth quantitative analyses (using Management Information System) to identify Front Office trends & insights at an early stage with respect to P&L impact and the use of Balance Sheet products and define actionable measures to drive & improve respective performance


• Act as a sparring partner to the Front in the context of Finance topics, with direct exposure to senior management and key stakeholders across the bank (e.g. Accounting, Treasury, Capital Management, Credit)


• Support the region’s financial planning and performance management processes (incl. budgeting, forecasting, scenario analysis)


• Develop tools focusing on further automatization and more flexible & timely use of data


• Run business case assessments and market strategy reviews on a regular basis and derive conclusions for decision-making


• Enhance Performance Management and reporting landscape to enable tracking of Julius Baer's long term business strategy execution

YOUR PROFILE

• Strong academic record: University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or comparable field of study with above-average grades


• At least 4-5 years of experience in comparable finance or related function within banking / financial industry or in management consulting with focus on banking


• Excellent Excel and data handling skills paired with affinity to derive in-depth quantitative analyses


• Data visualization / business intelligence tools knowledge (e.g. Tableau/Power BI) is a great advantage


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multiple senior stakeholders


• Strong analytical, conceptual skills, fast thinker and outstanding team player


• Strong personal drive with good organizational and multi-tasking skills as well as ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines


• Highly motivated, independent, pro-active and meticulous work method with a results-oriented mindset and problem-solving attitude


• Good knowledge and understanding of the Private Banking business and global financial markets


• Fluent in English (spoken and written), other languages (i.e. German) are an advantage
