Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Steam Turbine Engineering team in Switzerland. You will own bearing pedestal and turning gear component selection for new units, collaborate with global engineers, and perform analyses to ensure robust, safe designs for power generation equipment.

The role emphasizes CE/EHS considerations, Lean Six Sigma mindset, and cross-functional interaction with manufacturing, supply chain, and customers. Relocation assistance is provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Some engineering experience in Steam Turbine design and bearing pedestals/turning gear.
• Proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Own bearing pedestal component selection and specification for new units.
• Select and specify turning gear components for new units.
• Contribute to technology advancements across shaftline system, subsystem, component and material/life viewpoints.
• Collaborate with global & cross-functional team of Steam Turbine Engineers and external stakeholders enabling mutual technical growth and delivering for customers.
• Perform and review engineering analyses to ensure robust designs that meet CTQs.
• Support RTS and NPI activities as required.
• Design for EHS/Safety and demonstrate safety skillsets in manufacturing and field activities.
