Job summary

GE Vernova Gas Power, Birr site, seeks an experienced engineer to lead the design and construction of tooling and fixtures for gas and steam turbines and generator rotors. You will ensure timely delivery of resources and collaborate with production and engineering to optimize tooling concepts.

Required: HF diploma or equivalent, deep tooling design experience, SAP proficiency, and fluent German with good English. Relocation not offered for sponsorship; Swiss work eligibility required.

Qualifications

• Technical qualification in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering at HF level or equivalent.
• Experience designing production tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment.
• Solid knowledge of machining processes, tooling concepts, and measurement strategies.
• Fluent German and good English, both written and spoken.

Based at GE Vernova's production site in Birr, you will be part of the Betriebsmittelkonstruktion (BMK) team — a specialist group responsible for the full lifecycle of production tooling, measuring equipment, and manufacturing resources for gas turbines, steam turbines, and generator rotors.

Language: Fluent German and good English skills, both written and spoken, are mandatory requirements for this position.

What you’ll do

What you bring

Required

• Technical qualification in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering — a Swiss Higher Technical School (Höhere Fachschule, HF) diploma or equivalent is ideal

• Proven experience in the design of production tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment

• Solid knowledge of machining processes, tooling concepts, and measurement strategies

• Proficiency in SAP and TDM or a comparable tool data management system

• Fluent German and good English, written and spoken

Preferred

• Experience with tooling or fixture design for turbines, compressors, or other large rotating equipment

• Background in procurement coordination with technical suppliers
