Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. invites engineering students or recent grads to join the STEPS program in Birr, Switzerland. You will assist in the design and manufacture of gas turbine hardware, participate in design reviews, and collaborate across global teams to improve quality and manufacturability.

The role emphasizes hands-on learning, exposure to real engine hardware, and mentorship from experienced engineers in a global organization.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field in Switzerland.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design fundamentals, including stress, fatigue, creep, materials, tolerancing and manufacturability.
• Understanding of GD&T and interpreting engineering drawings/BOMs.
• Familiar with forging, casting, machining, coatings, inspection and fixturing.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and help resolve non-conforming hardware using engineering tools and methods.
• Support redesign efforts through engineering drawing updates.
• Assist with qualification of hardware for second-source suppliers and process or design changes.
• Participate in technical reviews and risk assessments at component and assembly level.
• Follow established engineering standards, templates, and standard work.
• Contribute to improvements in manufacturability, quality, and cost.
• Collaborate across engineering and global supply chain to support hardware delivery.
