Description

As Senior Manager Transport & Customs, EMEA, you will oversee customs and freight operations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Due to company growth, this new role was created to enhance supply chain agility and efficiency. Based in Basel, you will lead a team, ensure compliance with customs regulations, optimize freight operations, and align logistics strategies with business objectives. The role reports to the VP SCM & RE and involves travel within EMEA.

1. Develop and implement a customs and freight strategy aligned with company objectives.
2. Develop and streamline daily operations.
3. Optimize freight operations, reduce costs, and enhance supply chain resilience.
4. Ensure compliance with customs and trade regulations across EMEA.
5. Lead and develop a team of specialists, fostering a high-performance culture.
6. Negotiate with freight carriers, customs brokers, and logistics providers.
7. Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and authorities.
8. Implement and improve technology solutions for customs and freight management.
9. Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and service levels.

Profil recherché

The ideal candidate holds a BSc in engineering, business, or a related field with 10+ years of experience in a comparable environment. Fluency in English is essential. A strong track record in logistics and transportation is required, along with:

1. Extensive experience in customs, transportation, and logistics.
2. Deep knowledge of international trade regulations and freight management.
3. Proven leadership managing diverse teams across locations.
4. Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
5. Proficiency in German; fluency is a plus.
6. Additional languages are a plus.
7. Willingness to travel within the EMEA region.
8. Aviation or technical knowledge preferred.
