Description
In this role, you will be responsible for collaborating with our Global Logistics department to lead sourcing activities on their behalf. You will be actively managing the sourcing of $250M+ dollars of logistics spend. You would develop category strategies and lead RFPs on ocean, air, FTL/LTL freight, small parcel, 3PL and any other Logistics needs.
You will be part of a global team with peers based in Raleigh – NC, San Jose – CA, Wroclaw – PL, Juarez – MX, and Ziyang – CN. Internal business partners are geographically distributed to location beyond the above.
This position is based fully onsite (5 days per week) at the Rotkreuz office.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop category strategies in alignment with the business partner priorities/requirements and company growth/geographic expansion objectives
- Understand how market trends and supplier capabilities support your sourcing roadmap and project pipeline for each mode
- Take a proactive position to identify and mitigate risks within the category supported
- Achieve stakeholders’ business requirements while effectively capturing value (e.g cost improvements, risk mitigation, cost avoidance, process improvements, supplier consolidation)
- Negotiate and manage carrier agreements and relationships
- Lead regular business reviews with suppliers and Align management
- Support and drive Logistics Operations activities including supplier relationship management, operational performance, freight bill auditing, and business partner issues
- Work jointly with Global and Regional Logistics teams on operational execution activities
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 6-10 years of relevant sourcing experience
- At least 2 years of experience managing a global logistics category including small parcel carriers, TL/LTL/ocean transportation services, 3PLs, warehousing services (preferably with specialization in small parcel)
- Experience with Logistics Operations & Execution
- Strong understanding of supply chain networks and optimization
- Self-starter, demonstrated ability to develop a new sourcing category from the ground up
- Excellent business partner engagement skills, attention to detail, and influencing will be key components of this role
- Ability to navigate through a matrixed organization & collaborate in a cross regional/functional team
