Zusammenfassung

LS Instruments AG is seeking an Instrument Development Engineer to lead mechanical, thermal, and electronics design for scientific instruments. You will tackle optical bench layouts, kinematic mounts, and enclosure design for a space project and future product lines.

The role requires a Master’s/PhD in a related field, strong SolidWorks skills, and experience with thermal modelling and system integration. A permanent, full‑time position in Fribourg awaits.

Qualifikationen

• Master's or PhD in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, physics, optics or related field.
• Ability to work independently in a cross‑disci plinary team.
• Proficiency in 3D parametric CAD (SolidWorks) for precision assemblies.

Aufgaben

• Mechanical and optomechanical design of scientific instruments.
• Thermal analysis and temperature control design including TEC regulation.
• Electronics architecture definition: power distribution and cabling for multi‑subsystem instruments.
• Manage mass, power, and thermal budgets for system documentation.
• Prototype, test, and iterate hardware with optics and software teams.
