LS Instruments AG is seeking an Instrument Development Engineer to lead mechanical, thermal, and electronics engineering for advanced scientific instruments. You will work across a cross-disciplinary team to design optical benches, mounts and enclosures, while ensuring thermal stability and reliable integration of lasers, detectors and embedded computing.

The role requires a Master’s or PhD in a related field, hands-on prototyping, and strong English communication.

Qualifikationen

• Graduate degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, physics, optics or closely related discipline.
• Experience in scientific instrumentation is required.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD and thermal analysis.

Aufgaben

• Design mechanical and optomechanical components for scientific instruments.
• Perform thermal analysis including TEC/Peltier cooling.
• Define electronics architecture: power distribution and cabling for integrated systems.
• Contribute to system-level documentation with budgets (mass, power, thermal).
• Prototype, test, and iterate hardware with optics and software teams.
