Albedis SA is seeking a Software Engineer for large-scale data processing platforms. You will join a skilled backend team responsible for building and maintaining real-time and batch processing systems in a globally distributed setup.

You will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, focusing on scalable, resilient solutions. The ideal candidate has 2–6 years of backend experience, strong Java skills, and familiarity with Kafka, Spring Boot, and NoSQL/relational databases.

Qualifikationen

• 2–6 years of professional backend software development experience.
• Strong hands-on Java and object-oriented software engineering.
• Experience with enterprise-grade backend services and scalable applications.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit.
• Good understanding of relational and NoSQL databases; MongoDB is a plus.
• Familiarity with Spring Boot and event-driven/stream-processing technologies.
• Fluent English; Swiss or EU/EFTA citizenship or valid Swiss work permit (B/C) preferred.

As Software Engineer - Large-Scale Data Processing Platforms, you will join a highly skilled engineering team responsible for developing and maintaining backend systems that process large volumes of real-time and batch data. You will contribute throughout the full software development lifecycle and help build scalable, resilient, and high-performance solutions used in a globally distributed environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain high-performance backend applications for large-scale data processing environments
• Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design through implementation, testing, deployment and maintenance
• Develop robust, reusable and well-tested software solutions using object-oriented programming principles
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver scalable solutions

Expected profile

You hold a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline, alternatively a completed vocational education in software development, and you bring practical experience in backend software engineering within complex technical environments.

Additionally:

• 2-6 years of professional experience in backend software development
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and object-oriented software engineering principles
• Experience developing enterprise-grade backend services and scalable applications
• Practical experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit or similar automated testing solutions
• Good understanding of software design patterns, clean code principles and performance optimization
• Strong knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases
• Experience with MongoDB is considered an advantage
• Exposure to Spring Boot is highly desirable
• Familiarity with Apache Kafka, Apache Flink or other event-driven and stream-processing technologies is beneficial
• Experience working with large-scale data processing, distributed systems or Big Data environments is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proactive, self-driven and hands-on working style
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Swiss or EU/EFTA citizenship, or valid Swiss work permit (B/C)
