Zusammenfassung

Swisslinx AG Basel is seeking a Financial Services Software Engineer to join a Risk IT team modernising risk management systems with microservices, migrating from .NET Framework to .NET Core/OpenShift, and building a Cloudera Data Lake. You will work with C#, Java or C++, Kafka streaming interfaces, and relational DBs in an Agile, international setting.

Fluent English, senior experience in financial services, and strong problem-solving are required.

Qualifikationen

Our client is a prestigious international financial institution based in Basel, operating at the heart of the global financial system. The technology environment is international and collaborative, with engineering teams developing critical platforms supporting financial risk management and analysis.

As a Financial Services Software Engineer, you will join a Risk IT team of approximately 12-15 engineers and contribute to the modernisation of business-critical financial risk management systems. The environment is transitioning from a legacy monolithic architecture towards scalable, containerised microservices.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Contribute to the continued development of the Risk IT microservices stack in C#
• Refactor and decompose an existing .NET Framework codebase into smaller components for migration to .NET Core and OpenShift
• Support the transition towards a Cloudera-based Data Lake platform
• Replace legacy interfaces to Banking IT systems with a Kafka-based streaming architecture
• Work closely with business users and Risk Analysts to gather and refine requirements
• Deliver stable, incremental improvements with a strong focus on testing and software quality
• Participate in rotating business-hours support to maintain system stability and performance
• Contribute to projects focused on automating risk operations and modernising the application landscape

Requirements

• Senior-level software engineering experience
• Professional development experience with an object-oriented language such as C#, Java or C++, with willingness to work with C# and Python codebases
• Previous professional experience within financial services, either directly within banking/financial/insurance organisations or through software development services delivered to financial institutions
• Familiarity with at least one financial product domain, such as fixed income, equities or foreign exchange
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures and software design patterns
• Experience with relational databases, such as Oracle or SQL Server
• Ability and willingness to collaborate directly with business users to define and refine requirements
• Experience working within Agile development teams and iterative delivery environments
• Strong problem-solving skills and a logical, methodical approach
• Proactive and pragmatic mindset with ownership of delivery and quality
