Zusammenfassung

Coopers Group in Switzerland seeks an experienced Automation Software Engineer to develop and maintain manufacturing software applications, integrate DCS, MES, historian platforms, and related databases. You will craft VBA, PowerShell, C#, and SQL solutions while creating GMP-aligned documentation and supporting OT-IT interfaces.

You will participate in testing, commissioning, qualification, and deployment, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve reliability

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related discipline.
• Strong IT background with knowledge of software development, databases, networking, and system integrations.
• Experience with automation and manufacturing systems such as DCS, MES, or data historian platforms.
• Knowledge of VBA, PowerShell, C#, and SQL.
• Understanding of software lifecycle management and application support.
• Experience in GMP environments and creating GxP-compliant documentation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent English and/or German.

• Ensure cybersecurity, data integrity, and change management compliance.

Main tasks:

• Develop, configure, and maintain automation and manufacturing software applications.
• Design, implement, and integrate solutions connected to DCS, MES, historians, databases, and related manufacturing systems.
• Develop software solutions using technologies such as VBA, PowerShell, C#, SQL, and Git-based version control systems.
• Create software design specifications, functional specifications, and other engineering documentation in accordance with GMP and company standards.
• Support system interfaces, data exchange, and integration between OT and IT platforms.
• Execute software testing, commissioning, qualification, and deployment activities.
• Participate in troubleshooting, root cause investigations, and resolution of software and system issues.
• Maintain and enhance existing applications to improve reliability, performance, and user experience.
• Collaborate with Automation, Manufacturing, Validation, Quality, and IT teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, data integrity, and change management requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Strong IT background with knowledge of software development, databases, networking, and system integrations.
• Experience with automation and manufacturing systems such as DCS, MES, or data historian platforms.
• Knowledge of programming and scripting languages including VBA, PowerShell, C#, and SQL.
• Understanding of software lifecycle management and application support.
• Experience working in GMP-regulated environments and creating GxP-compliant documentation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent English and/or German.

Preferred Qualifications and experience

• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences manufacturing.
• Knowledge of DeltaV, Syncade, PI System, or similar industrial software platforms.
• Familiarity with software validation, CSV/CSA methodologies, and data integrity requirements.
• Understanding of OT infrastructure and cybersecurity principles.
