Job summary

Antaes Consulting in Geneva, Switzerland is seeking an experienced Java Software Engineer to contribute to the modernization of a safety-critical air traffic surveillance system, converting legacy components into a service-oriented architecture.

You will work in a high-availability environment, applying TDD/BDD with Cucumber, and collaborate in an Agile team to deliver reliable software.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring and Maven.
• Good knowledge of Linux, networking and distributed systems.
• Experience working in safety-critical or regulated environments.
• Familiarity with software testing, requirements engineering and V&V activities.

We are looking for an experienced Java Software Engineer to join an exciting project in the Air Traffic Management (ATM) sector.

You will contribute to the modernization of a safety-critical air traffic surveillance system, transforming an existing platform into a modern service-oriented architecture.

This is an opportunity to work on complex, high-availability software where reliability, performance and quality are essential.

Your Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend applications using Java.
• Contribute to the modernization of legacy systems and the development of service-oriented architectures.
• Implement automated testing practices using TDD, BDD and Cucumber.
• Translate operational requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in software verification, validation and quality assurance activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in an Agile environment.

Your Profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in software development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring and Maven.
• Good knowledge of Linux, networking and distributed systems.
• Experience working in safety-critical or regulated environments.
• Familiarity with software testing, requirements engineering and V&V activities.

Nice to Have

• Experience in Air Traffic Management (ATM), Air Traffic Control (ATC) or aviation systems.
• Knowledge of Netty, messaging systems or low-level network communication.
• Experience with Cucumber and automated testing frameworks.
• Exposure to software certification and compliance processes.
