Overview
Luxoft have been engaged by a leading financial institution to provide a technical BAU support analyst to support Smartstream (CMS) cash management and liquidity, Linux administration, and JBoss middleware management. The support analyst will be responsible for providing technical support of the underlying application, releases and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Provide L1/L2/L3 support for SmartStream CMS, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and service requests.
- Manage and administer Linux-based environments (Red Hat/CentOS), including troubleshooting OS-level issues, patching, and performance tuning.
- Install, configure, and support JBoss application servers; manage deployments, tuning, clustering, and troubleshooting middleware issues.
- Perform batch job monitoring, system checks, and proactive health monitoring of CMS and related environments.
- Coordinate with SmartStream vendor and internal development teams to resolve application issues and apply patches/upgrades.
- Maintain and monitor interfaces, feeds, and integration points with upstream/downstream systems (e.g., trading, risk, settlement).
- Participate in release management, ensuring smooth deployments in UAT and production.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring incidents and contribute to long-term stability improvements.
- Develop and maintain support documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
- Ensure compliance with IT security, audit, and regulatory requirements.
- Support UK hours from (7am to 4pm) or (9am to 6pm) or (10am to 7pm), as required.
- Participate in overnight support rota (on call) and weekend work (releases/support, etc.).
- Be self-motivated and capable of progressing tasks independently or as part of a team.
- Document technical requirements or processes to capture current configuration.
- Support and test technical systems/servers as required.
- Work with third-party software providers and operate within predefined application standards; raise queries or tickets for defects.
- Apply industry practices to ensure the solution incorporates best practice.
- Collaborate with neighbouring technology and project teams to ensure changes are rolled out in a coordinated, non-disruptive manner.
- Ensure go-live activities transition services into the live production environment in a compliant, non-disruptive manner.
- Provide post-live support and assist with remediation where necessary.
- Identify key technical areas to work on and ensure defects are tracked and managed with the appropriate team.
- Highlight risks or concerns and ensure escalation when needed.
Skills
Must have
- Experience with vendor application Smartstream Cash Management (CMS) v4, Control Process Designer, Smart Schema, and related components (Smartstream Recs).
- Hands-on Linux system administration experience (Red Hat/CentOS preferred).
- Solid knowledge of JBoss EAP/WildFly setup, tuning, deployment, and support.
- Excellent communication skills across Unix, database, and application teams.
- Familiar with Change Requests, CAB participation, and weekend rollout of code changes.
- Control-M application knowledge: job creation, administration, alerting, file movement, file watchers, JSON handling, etc.
- Oracle 19c SQL scripting and Oracle database concepts.
- Linux shell scripting and support.
- Ability to package and manage configuration/code changes into releases and apply to production.
- JBoss 8 server knowledge: configuration, support, error log analysis, and WAR deployment.
- JMS queue processing and principles.
- GitHub software management and automated deployment via CI/CD pipelines.
- Flexibility to work non-business hours and weekends.
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Understanding of banking concepts related to cash management and reconciliation.
