Job summary

Lonza is seeking an on-site Instrumentation Engineer in Visp for a 1-year contract. You will design and implement field instrumentation, maintain engineering data in COMOS, and ensure seamless integration with DCS/PLC systems. The role requires hands-on commissioning, loop checks, and collaboration with cross-functional teams including Quality and Validation.

Proficiency in German and English is mandatory. The position is fully site-based with an agile work culture and competitive hourly rate,

Qualifications

• Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Automation Engineering or related.field
• Experience in instrumentation engineering within regulated pharma/biotech environments
• Hands-on experience managing engineering data and documentation in COMOS
• Strong knowledge of field device integration, loop testing, commissioning
• Familiarity with GMP/GxP environments; Kneat/UBIK experience advantageous
• German language mandatory; English proficiency required

Responsibilities

• Design and specify field instrumentation and measurement tech for process/utility systems
• Maintain instrument data, loop diagrams, and indexes using COMOS
• Integrate field devices into DCS/PLC/process control systems
• Coordinate and supervise site installation activities per specs
• Plan, execute, troubleshoot loop checks, commissioning and startup
• Support digital GMP qualification tasks in Kneat and UBIK for IQ/OQ
