Job summary

Lonza Visp invites you to join as an EI&C Instrumentation Engineer. You will design, calibrate and troubleshoot process instrumentation and control systems to support high-quality biopharma manufacturing.

In this site-based role, you’ll collaborate with Automation, Process Engineering, Maintenance, Validation and Quality teams. You will also manage COMOS data, lead loop tests, and support IQ/OQ qualification using UBIK and Kneat.

Qualifications

• Background in instrumentation, electrical, or automation engineering within pharma/biotech environments.
• Experience with process measurement technologies and field device calibration.
• Experience managing engineering documentation and data in COMOS.
• Hands-on with loop testing, commissioning, and system startup.
• Familiarity with GxP/GMP and change control procedures.
• Experience with qualification software such as UBIK and Kneat is desirable.
• Proficiency in English and/or German.

Responsibilities

• Drive the engineering and specification of instrumentation (pressure, flow, temperature, analytical) for high-quality medicine production.
• Partner with Automation, Process Engineering, Maintenance, Validation and Quality teams for seamless system integration.
• Design, maintain and update engineering data in COMOS including instrument data sheets and loop diagrams.
• Support integration of field devices into DCS, PLC, and SIS platforms.
• Supervise site installation, perform loop checks and troubleshoot during commissioning and startup.
• Execute GxP qualification activities using digital validation tools (UBIK, Kneat) for IQ/OQ testing.
• Ensure change control, data integrity and validation guidelines are followed.
