Job summary

Accelleron Switzerland Ltd in Switzerland seeks an innovative R&D Engineer to strengthen our compressor and turbine development for turbocharger applications. You will own aerodynamic and mechanical design from pre-engineering to manufacturing support, collaborating across disciplines in an international setting.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years in compressor or turbine development, strong turbomachinery knowledge, and hands-on CFD/FEA experience, plus

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 5 years of experience in compressor or turbine development.
• Solid understanding of turbomachinery.
• Strong background in aerodynamics, thermodynamics, and mechanical integrity.
• Experience with 3D CFD tools and finite element analysis (FEA/FEM).
• Sound programming knowledge in Python and MATLAB.
• Familiarity with compressor or turbine testing and validation.
• Open-mindedness and strong interpersonal skills.
• Proven track record in compressor or turbine design, e.g., through patents or publications.
• Excellent organizational skills and a high degree of self-organization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Fluency in English.
• Willingness to learn German.

Responsibilities

• Design compressors and turbines, taking into account aerothermodynamics, mechanical integrity, and materials.
• Be responsible for product validation and qualification.
• Support advanced concept studies.
• Contribute to shaping the technology roadmap.
• Act as an internal point of contact for all product lines.
• Coordinate with internal and external test facilities on testing and validation activities.
