Zusammenfassung

EPAM Systems in Zurich, Switzerland invites a Senior Trino Power User Analyst to join our hybrid team. You will design, deploy and optimize Trino clusters for large-scale data environments, ensuring high availability and performance across diverse sources.

You will work with data engineers and architects on lakehouses, federated queries and distributed analytics, tuning memory and CPU, and shaping modern data architectures. Fluency in English is required; knowledge of German is a plus.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years in distributed data platforms or big data infrastructure.
• Hands-on deploying and operating Trino or Presto clusters.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
• Experience with Hive Metastore, Iceberg, Kafka and object storage.
• Strong background in distributed query optimization and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace).
• Security and access control (LDAP, Kerberos, RBAC).
• Trino architecture knowledge: coordinator/worker roles and resource groups.
• Scripting in Python or Bash for automation.
• Excellent English; German a plus.

Aufgaben

• Design, deploy and operate Trino clusters in on-premise Kubernetes environments.
• Configure Trino catalogs and connectors for heterogeneous data sources.
• Optimize query performance through memory/CPU tuning and partitioning.
• Implement workload management with resource groups and concurrency controls.
• Ensure scalability and fault tolerance for analytics workloads.
• Monitor latency, performance and health using observability tools.
• Troubleshoot query failures and system issues.
• Collaborate with analytics teams on best practices for data access.
• Contribute to architecture decisions for lakehouses and federated analytics.
