Corintis, based on EPFL Campus in St. Sulpice near Lausanne, is seeking a Senior Computational Optimisation Engineer to build optimization technology for internal cooling product geometry.

You will report to Head of Software Engineering and collaborate with computational, product, and manufacturing teams. The role focuses on topology optimization, homogenization, and multiscale design, implementing numerical methods in Python/C++.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computational Engineering, or related field.
• Expertise in topology optimization (density-based, level-set, or shape optimization).
• Experience with homogenization, multiscale modeling and effective material properties.
• Strong background in finite element methods and numerical PDEs.
• Experience with sensitivity analysis, adjoint methods and gradient-based optimization.
• Proficiency in Python and/or C++ for reliable scientific software.
• Knowledge of software development practices: version control, testing, documentation, modular code design.
• Experience with HPC and parallel programming (MPI).
• Fluent English, with strong written and verbal communication.

Aufgaben

• Develop and implement topology optimization, PDE-constrained optimization, and multiscale material design methods.
• Formulate and solve optimization problems with homogenization and microstructure-driven performance.
• Design, implement, and maintain Python/C++ simulation and optimization software.
• Create workflows combining FEM, sensitivity analysis, adjoint methods, and gradient-based optimization.
• Apply homogenization to lattices and architected microstructures.
• Translate requirements into computational models and optimized designs.
• Verify and validate models, algorithms, and results.
• Document methods, code and results; present to technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Stay updated with topology optimization and computational mechanics advances.
