As part of the development of next-generation satellite communication technologies for the aerospace industry, we are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join an innovative Product Development team based in Lausanne.
You will contribute to the design and development of highly integrated electromechanical systems used in cutting-edge communication solutions. Working in a multidisciplinary R&D environment, you will collaborate with experts in mechanical engineering, electronics, RF, systems engineering, and manufacturing to deliver reliable, high-performance products that meet demanding aerospace requirements.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will take ownership of the complete mechanical development lifecycle, from requirements definition and system architecture to design, simulation, testing, and product integration.
You will play a key role in delivering innovative mechanical solutions while working closely with cross-functional engineering teams and external manufacturing partners to ensure product quality, performance, and manufacturability.
Design and develop innovative mechanical subsystems for complex electromechanical products.
Define mechanical architecture and evaluate technical trade-offs.
Create detailed 3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks.
Perform mechanical and thermal simulations to optimize product performance and reliability.
Collaborate closely with Mechanical, Electrical, RF, and Systems Engineering teams.
Ensure seamless integration of mechanical components within highly complex systems.
Support prototype assembly, testing, validation, and troubleshooting activities.
Define work packages and support project planning and execution.
Identify technical risks and propose effective mitigation strategies.
Produce clear technical documentation and communicate engineering solutions effectively.
Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Quality by Design principles.
Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure efficient product industrialization.
Contribute to product validation, qualification, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
10+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development within a high-tech industry.
Strong expertise with SolidWorks 3D and EPDM.
Solid experience with thermal simulations and thermal management solutions.
Experience working on complex systems involving mechanical, electrical, and RF integration.
Background in designing products for harsh or highly regulated environments such as aerospace, defense, or advanced industrial applications.
Knowledge of ANSYS Mechanical, Discovery, Icepak, or Mathcad is considered a strong asset.
Hands-on engineering mindset with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
