Galenica AG in Bern seeks a hands-on Technical SEO engineer to ensure our webshops and content are reliably crawled and indexed. You will implement structured data, optimize metadata, and work with Product and Engineering teams to push production-ready improvements.

You should have deep experience with crawling, indexation, rendering, and modern JavaScript sites, plus familiarity with JSON-LD, Google Search Console, and Git workflows. Fluency in English is required; German is a plus.

What You Can Do

• You make sure our webshops, product pages, services, content and pharmacy pages can be reliably crawled, understood and discovered by search engines and emerging AI systems.
• You go beyond analysis and recommendations: you fix technical issues directly where possible and work hands-on with Product and Engineering teams to bring larger improvements into production.
• You implement and optimize structured data, metadata, internal linking, redirects, sitemaps, crawling, indexation and other technical Search foundations across our digital platforms.
• You build automated checks, scripts and lightweight tools that improve technical quality, reduce repetitive manual work and make Search and AI readiness scalable.
• You work directly with our Digital-as-a-Service and Journey Product Teams from discovery and technical solution design through implementation, testing and release validation.
• You explore AI Search and agent capabilities through practical experiments and prototypes using LLM APIs, structured information, APIs and emerging approaches such as RAG or MCP.

What You Have To Offer

• Several years of hands-on Technical SEO experience, ideally gained in an agency, e-commerce, marketplace, large website or multi-site environment.
• Deep practical knowledge of crawling, indexation, rendering, site architecture, canonicals, redirects, sitemaps, internal linking, structured data and modern JavaScript websites.
• You are comfortable with HTML, CSS and JavaScript and can automate repetitive work using scripts or APIs, ideally with Python or a comparable language.
• You have practical experience with JSON-LD / Schema.org, Google Search Console, crawling and monitoring tools, and are comfortable working with Git, APIs and modern development workflows.
• You actively use modern AI tools and have experimented with LLM APIs, AI-assisted workflows or technical prototypes; experience with agents, RAG or MCP is a plus.
• You work independently, prioritize by impact and take ownership from technical analysis through implementation and validation. You communicate effectively across Product and Engineering teams and are fluent in English; German is highly valuable, French or Italian a plus.
