Zusammenfassung

Digitec Galaxus AG in Switzerland seeks a Senior Software Engineer to lead the AI Enabling Team. You will own Galaxus Intelligence, design the developer experience for AI-powered products, and build a shared retrieval and tool-access platform for internal data.

You will work across voice-based, data, and tooling platforms to ensure scalable, trustworthy AI solutions. You will be responsible for implementing a knowledge graph, integrating semantic search, and ensuring observability of LLM systems

Qualifikationen

• Higher education in computer science, software engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience building/operating production systems.
• Strong fundamentals in software engineering and at least one of Python, C#/.NET or TypeScript.

Aufgaben

• Define and build the developer experience for AI-assisted engineering and AI-powered products, so teams can move from an idea to production without rebuilding model access, tool integration, evaluation and observability for every use case.
• Build the shared knowledge and tool-access layer that helps people and agents find authoritative internal information: establish a knowledge graph, integrate a semantic layer, and combine MCP-based access with unified search and retrieval.
• Take broad technical ownership of Galaxus Intelligence and solve hard parts of dependable self-service analytics: finding data, generating and validating queries, and making answers traceable to sources.
• Own and evolve the LLM-access and observability layer used across Digitec Galaxus, balancing capability, reliability, latency, data protection and cost across hosted and self-hosted models.
• Create benchmarks, production evaluations and feedback loops that expose regressions and make the quality, usefulness and operational performance of AI systems measurable.

The harder challenge is enabling agents to find the right internal knowledge, use company systems safely, and produce results that remain reliable as models, data and workflows change. As a Senior Software Engineer in our AI Enabling Team, you will tackle these problems with real operational data and real users: taking broad ownership of Galaxus Intelligence, our Agentic BI Tool, while building the shared retrieval, tool-access and evaluation platform for AI products across Digitec Galaxus.

Your responsibilities

• Define and build the developer experience for AI-assisted engineering and AI-powered products, so teams can move from an idea to production without rebuilding model access, tool integration, evaluation and observability for every use case
• Build the shared knowledge and tool-access layer that helps people and agents find authoritative internal information: this includes establishing a knowledge graph for curated, factual knowledge, integrating a semantic layer into the data platform, and combining MCP-based access with unified search and retrieval
• Take broad technical ownership of Galaxus Intelligence and solve the hard parts of dependable self-service analytics: finding the right data, generating and validating queries, and making answers traceable to their sources
• Own and evolve the LLM-access and observability layer used across Digitec Galaxus, balancing capability, reliability, latency, data protection and cost across hosted and self-hosted models
• Create benchmarks, production evaluations and feedback loops that expose regressions and make the quality, usefulness and operational performance of AI systems measurable

Your skills

• Higher education in computer science, software engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, combined with at least 3 years of experience building and operating production systems
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, with depth in at least one language such as Python, C#/.NET or TypeScript
• Hands on experience with LLM applications, agents, tool use, retrieval or evaluation is a strong advantage. Deep expertise in search, data platforms, developer tooling or distributed systems is an equally relevant foundation
• English is mandatory, while the German is an advantage
• Proven ability to take an ambiguous problem from its first rough definition to a system running in production, including the judgement to decide what not to build
• Strong product judgement and clear communication with engineers, analysts and nontechnical stakeholders
• An entrepreneurial mindset, a habit of questioning established approaches and the courage to make decisions before every detail is known
• The capacity to adapt to ongoing changes in the work environment
