As part of HSBC Private Bank in Geneva, you will function as a Tax Subject Matter Expert, ensuring compliance with Swiss and international tax regulations. This role entails collaborating across departments to implement effective tax procedures, providing technical advice, and serving as the primary contact for tax matters.

Under the direction of the Head of Client Tax Governance and in line with Group policy and best practices, you will advise on and monitor the procedures and processes regarding the identification, tax treatment, and reporting of clients, including:

What you will do:
The jobholder will need to develop a strong understanding of cross-departmental procedures and act as a Tax Subject Matter Expert (SME) with key stakeholders.
You will proactively ensure accuracy, completeness, and effectiveness in QI, FATCA, SST, TTC operational compliance (withholding and reporting), and Automatic Exchange of Information (OECD Standard / CRS). You will support the risk management framework, understand risks clearly, and implement programs to stress test effectiveness. This involves interpreting and applying highly technical legislations related to QI, FATCA, SST, CRS, DAC6 / MDR, and supporting the digitalization of the tax function.
You will also need to maintain a good knowledge of key local and foreign tax legislations, including double taxation agreements, and understand the banking products and their interactions across the group to identify relevant tax considerations.
