About the Role

We are looking for a Senior IT System Engineer to join our growing infrastructure team. In this strategic and hands-on role, you will design, manage, and evolve cutting-edge infrastructure solutions across on-premise datacentres and cloud platforms. You’ll contribute to our long-term IT vision while leading technical initiatives and supporting cross-functional collaboration across the organization.

Your Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain robust infrastructure solutions across datacentre and cloud environments, including servers, storage, and virtualization technologies
• Drive the architecture and deployment of scalable systems with a strong focus on automation and infrastructure-as-code (IaC).
• Ensure the security, reliability, and performance of all infrastructure services in line with best practices.
• Lead or actively contribute to key infrastructure projects and initiatives, from concept through to execution.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure seamless integration, monitoring, and lifecycle management of infrastructure components.
• Mentor and support junior team members, promoting a culture of knowledge-sharing, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Identify and implement improvements to system architecture and operational processes.

Your Profile

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as an IT System Engineer in complex enterprise environments.
• Deep expertise in server infrastructure, storage systems, and virtualization technologies (especially VMware, Windows Server, and Ubuntu/Linux).
• Solid understanding of cloud computing platforms and hybrid architectures.
• Strong conceptual knowledge of infrastructure services, including networking, monitoring, and system lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation and IaC tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or similar.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire, guide, and motivate teams effectively.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken); good knowledge of German.
