Job summary

EveryWare in Switzerland seeks a Senior System Engineer to join the Platform team in Lausanne or Geneva. You will implement, operate and evolve Microsoft-based infrastructure for our clients, combining hands-on delivery with architectural input.

You will work across Windows Server, AD, SQL Server, IIS, VMware, and automation tools, setting standards, documenting best practices, and collaborating with engineers, architects and customers to ensure performance, security and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain and evolve Microsoft-based environments (Windows Server, AD, SQL Server, IIS)
• Administer and optimize VMware ESXi/vCenter environments
• Design and optimize system architectures for performance, scalability, and security
• Monitor infrastructure health and proactively resolve issues
• Provide 2nd-level support and root cause analysis
• Automate operations using PowerShell, Puppet, Rundeck, Terraform
• Manage lifecycle of Microsoft systems and ensure stability and security
• Share knowledge and contribute to standards, documentation and best practices

A team of over 250 experts specializes in cloud transition and operations, modern workplace and Microsoft 365, DevOps, managed AI, as well as network, data center, and outsourcing services up to full IT outsourcing.

Your Role

As a Senior System Engineer, you will report to the team leader of the System Team in the Platform department. You will play a key technical role in the implementation, evolution, and operational stability of Microsoft-based infrastructure platforms, both internally and for our clients.

You will act as a technical reference within the team, contributing to system design decisions, operational best practices, and continuous improvement of our services. In this role, you combine strong hands-on expertise with the ability to anticipate issues, standardize solutions, and collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, and customers.

In the team you will oversee:

• Implement, maintain, and evolve Microsoft-based environments (Windows Server, Active Directory, WSUS, SQL Server, IIS, etc.)
• Administer and optimize virtualized environments (VMware ESXi, vCenter; VM lifecycle management)
• Design and optimize system architectures to ensure performance, scalability, and security
• Monitor infrastructure health and proactively identify and resolve potential issues
• Provide 2nd-level and advanced support, handling complex incidents and root cause analysis
• Automate operations using tools like PowerShell, Puppet, Rundeck, and Terraform
• Manage the lifecycle of Microsoft systems, ensuring they remain stable, secure and up to date
• Share knowledge and contribute to technical standards, documentation, and team best practices

Your expertise covers some or all the following:

• Windows Server and Microsoft ecosystem (AD, GPO, IIS, SQL Server, WSUS, RDS, DFS)
• Virtualization (VMware vSphere, proxmox)
• Backup solutions (Veeam)
• Networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, proxy, load balancers)
• Scripting and automation (PowerShell, python)
• Monitoring tools (CheckMK or similar)
• Infrastructure as Code / configuration management(Terraform, Puppet)

Additional strengths:

• Exposure to public cloud platforms(AWS, Azure)
• Experience with Linux administration (Debian, RHEL)
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Ability to document and share knowledge
• Customer-oriented mindset with good communication skills

The position is based in Lausanne or Geneva. Excellent written and spoken French and English are required; proficiency in German is an asset.
