IonQ is seeking a Staff System Architect dedicated to the SNSPD platform, guiding architecture across hardware, software, and integration domains for scalable, 24/7 detectors.

You will own end-to-end system design, align with a long-term product vision, and drive critical trade-offs to ensure high performance while shaping the technology roadmap to stay ahead in cryogenic photon detection and quantum sensing.

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree (PhD preferred) in physics, electrical engineering, photonics or related field with 7+ years in multi-domain system design.
• Experience architecting instruments/platforms with optics/photonics and electronics/mechanics/thermal.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate complex architectures clearly.

Aufgaben

• Own end-to-end system architecture of the SNSPD platform and translate requirements into designs.
• Define system structure, interfaces, and key architectural decisions balancing performance, cost and scalability.
• Guide integration across hardware, software and mechanical domains and drive cross-domain trade-offs.
• Shape technology roadmap and evaluate new technologies to maintain competitiveness.
