Nobel Biocare in Switzerland is seeking a Senior Surface Technology Engineer to scout future materials and surface tech opportunities and to lead technical development of products, materials, and surfaces per Design Control and Idea-to-Market processes.

The role owns core surface processes, maintains them, and mentors peers while ensuring compliance with medical device regulations and quality systems. Fluent English; German a plus.

Qualifikationen

• Advanced degree in Materials Science, Surface Engineering, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in materials science, surface engineering, and manufacturing process development.
• 3+ years in the medical device industry, preferably dental or orthopedic sectors.
• Strong expertise in titanium alloys, ceramics, anodization, sandblasting, and related surface treatments.
• Understanding of material–biological interface interactions and ISO 13485 / ISO 14971 expectations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.

Aufgaben

• Act as the technical expert for core surface technologies and processes.
• Lead development of new materials, surfaces, and product innovations under Design Control and Idea-to-Market workflows.
• Scout and evaluate emerging material and surface technology opportunities.
• Drive process improvements via data analysis and cross-functional collaboration.
• Support transfer of new technologies into manufacturing and regulatory documentation.
