Helbling Technik in Bern is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for product development in the medical device field. You will design mechanical and micromechanical solutions across the development lifecycle from concept to manufacturing handover, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes CAD design in SolidWorks or Creo, DFMEA, prototyping, supplier interactions, and maintaining high quality standards.

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree in mechanical, microengineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years in development and industrialization of medical devices.
• Experience with SolidWorks or Creo; FEA, COMSOL, Moldex3D are a plus.
• Experience with injection-molded and metal components.
• Technical experience in assembly processes is a plus.

• Generate concepts for modules, complex systems and complete products in CAD, including detailed design of plastic and metal components, DFMEA, tolerance analysis, and FEA.
• Design, source, and test prototypes, including development of test fixtures, test protocols, and report creation.
• Contact and evaluate vendors and contractors and manage these relationships throughout the projects.
• Monitor the status of all assignments and progress reports.
• Develop assembly and inspection fixtures to test product performance.
• Ensure that medical products are manufactured within specification and organize corrective actions.
• Develop and implement production processes and define quality controls to meet high standards.

Senior Project Engineer - Product Development

You will play a key role within a medical device product development team in Bern, contributing across the entire development lifecycle; from initial specifications and concept creation through to detail design and transfer into manufacturing.

Role Description

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will design and develop mechanical and micromechanical solutions in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Beyond generating innovative concepts, you will be responsible for advancing ideas into mature designs by validating their feasibility through prototyping and testing.

In this role, you will also engage regularly with suppliers and ensure clear and structured communication of technical progress and updates to the project manager.

Specific Respnsibilities

• Participate in product development from design to implementation
  • Generate concepts for modules, complex systems and complete products in CAD, including detailed design of plastic and metal components, DFMEA, tolerance analysis, fundamental calculations and finite element analysis.
  • Design, source, and test prototypes, including development of test fixtures, test protocols, and report creation.
  • Contact and evaluate vendors and contractors and manage these relationships throughout the projects.
  • Monitor the status of all assignments and progress reports
• Develop assembly and inspection fixtures to test product performance.
• Ensure that medical products are manufactured within specification and organize corrective actions.

Professional Qualifications

• Master's degree in mechanical, Microengineering or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in the development and industrialization of medical devices is required
• Experience with Solidworks or/and Creo is required, FEA, COMSOL, Moldex3D are strong plus
• Experience with injection molded and metal components
• Technical experience in assembly processes is a plus
