BakerHicks is a leading consultancy in the power transmission and distribution sector in the UK, expanding its power team in the DACH region. We are seeking an ambitious Substation / Primary Layout Engineer to support this growth.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced engineer in the design and planning of transmission-level onshore substations at voltages from 110kV to 400kV. Responsibilities include producing substation primary layouts, specifying primary equipment, performing equipment rating calculations, busbar short circuit force calculations, earthing studies, impressed voltage calculations, creating material specification lists, fault calculations, P&C wiring diagrams, defining protection requirements, and system modelling.
Proficiency in German and a good level of English are required.

Project durations typically range from 6 to 24 months. Work locations are mainly at the customer's site, with some options for remote work in consultation with project management. Employees will have opportunities to work on diverse projects, visit new cities, and return home on weekends.
