Qualifikationen

• Experience in HV power transmission systems, HVDC interconnectors, or renewable energy infrastructure in the DACH region.
• Specialist knowledge in High Voltage Substations.
• Experience in production and management of designs and calculations.

Your Tasks

BakerHicks is one of the leading consultancies in the power transmission and distribution sector in the UK, and they are expanding their power-team in the DACH region. They are now seeking an ambitious Substation / Primary Layout Engineer to support this growth.

You will be an experienced engineer in the design and planning of transmission-level onshore substations at voltages from 110kV to 400kV. Responsibilities include the production of substation primary layouts, primary equipment specifications, equipment rating calculations, busbar short circuit force calculations, earthing studies, impressed voltage calculations, production of material specification lists, fault calculations, P&C wiring diagrams, protection requirements, and system modelling.

You must have full working proficiency in German and a good level of English.

Your Profile

• The candidate must have experience in the production or management of designs, calculations, reports, and drawings for HV power transmission systems, HVDC interconnectors, or HV renewable energy infrastructure in the DACH region.
• The candidate must have full working proficiency in German and a good level of English.
• The candidate must have specialist knowledge in High Voltage Substations.
• The role will involve occasional travel to BakerHicks offices in Basel and London.

Traveling activity

The duration of projects is usually between 6 and 24 months. Depending on the project and phase, work location is primarily at the customer site, although remote working may be possible in consultation with project management. BakerHicks offers opportunities to work with different clients and technologies, explore new cities, and still be home on weekends.
