Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and ship robust, maintainable, and readable web applications.
• Bring in industry standards and best practices to continuously simplify the current software architecture to reduce complexity and maintenance cost.
• Solve hard problems where lateral thinking is required.
• Monitor the production systems to spot improvement opportunities.
• Make a positive impact on our engineering culture by adopting, implementing, and providing feedback on best standards and practices.

What will help you succeed

• You’re a seasoned software engineer with knowledge of the Java stack (especially Spring) and a track record of delivering production-grade systems.
• You have experience using REST APIs in front-end development and hands-on UI development with modern frameworks (primarily React).
• You are passionate, disciplined, and dedicated to shaping technical direction and contributing to architectural decisions for long-term code quality.
• You have strong critical thinking and the ability to question the status quo and propose concrete ideas.
• You are comfortable taking ownership from ideation to deployment and balancing technical excellence with business impact.
• You thrive in collaborative environments, value diverse perspectives, and communicate clearly in Italian (preferred) and English across disciplines.

Desirable qualifications

• At least 3+ years of experience building medium-sized web applications with long-term support.
• Experience in agile principles and practices (TDD, simple design, design patterns, etc.).
• Experience in containerized architectures and technologies.
• Experience in the FinTech domain and mentoring a team.
